Here are some tips to optimize fundraising and engage your auction guests:
- On all promotional materials, clearly state where the funds are going and how they can make a difference.
- Make a new rule: Everyone who makes remarks must say why they love your cause and ask others to support you.
- Include an inspirational Fund-A-Need.
- Thank and provide feedback to your donors immediately.
- Follow up with all your giving friends.
- Don't obsess on the color or your table napkins
- Participate in our workshop.

Encourage "Philanthropic Bidding"
Fire up auction guests to bid more than the value of your live auction items. Promote the benefit auction spirit of "Giving not Getting."
Reward your over-bidders! Create excitement with the instant delivery of a special gift such as chocolates, a rose or a memento of your non profit. Volunteers can run it out to the winning bidder immediately. For extra sizzle, add a chime or play a short upbeat music riff. Make sure your auctioneer says SOLD and THANKS so much for your INCREDIBLE GENEROSITY!
